Paramount Home Entertainment announced on Wednesday that Star Trek V and VI along with The Director’s Edition of The Motion Picture are coming to 4K.
Star Trek ran for three seasons on television in the late 1960’s before being canceled, but thanks to animation and syndication it was able to boldly go to the movies.
“Commanding a starship is your first, best destiny; anything else is a waste of material.” and it seems Paramount doesn’t want to waste an opportunity with what’s considered one of if not the best movie of the original cast.
Star Trek’s TOS third and final season rewarded fans with a number of memorable episodes, it kicked off in September 1968 with “Spock’s Brain”.
Star Trek’s TOS second season began in September 1967 with “Amok Time”, which introduced actor Walter Koenig as Russian navigator Pavel Chekov, and granted viewers the first glimpse of Spock’s homeworld, Vulcan.
