Star Trek The Original Series / Season 1
I’ve always been a Star Trek fan and as weird as it sounds its thanks to Star Wars that got me interested as a kid to watch the Original Series on television. At first I watched it due to the fact it took place in space aboard a space ship. It wasn’t until my Aunt and Uncle took me to see Star Trek II The Wrath of Khan that I started to take more of a liking to the show. Read more
I saw the teaser trailer to this movie today.
(Storyline) An origin story set in present day San Francisco, where man’s own experiments with genetic engineering lead to the development of intelligence in apes and the onset of a war for supremacy.
It’s scheduled to come out in the theaters on August 5th, 2011. From what I’ve read it’s another Hollywood attempt at a reboot of another movie franchise. Granted the effects look good and it has an interesting story line, but I wonder sometimes if Hollywood has any original story ideas left or redoing past movies all Hollywood can come up with.
This post is not what would I consider a normal posting for this blog.
In my spare time I am working on writing a book. It is set far into the future of man on Earth. It does not deal with the consequences of mans actions of its treatment of Earth, but of the treatment of its fellow-man. My inspiration for writing this book comes from my love of comic books, movies, science fiction and my grandpa. You may be thinking what would my grandpa have to do with any of the other stuff I mentioned before him?
My grandpa was part of the generation that fought to keep man and the world free from monstrous men in WWII. Growing up I could sit for hours and listen to him talk about his experience during WWII, but on July 30, 2010 he left this world at the age of 89.
I believe in the theory that we must keep reminding our self’s of History in order not to repeat what man has done. Watching the news on television and reading it on the internet sometimes makes me wonder. If more men and women in this world would take an extra minute out of their lives and think about someone else, maybe this world would be a better place to live for all of us.
