Before Star Wars, there was The Star Wars! This is an adaptation of George Lucas’s rough-draft screenplay of what would eventually become a motion picture that would change the movies and sci-fi.

“The Star Wars #1” is the first of an eight-issue series. It takes the original concepts and rough draft script George Lucas had imagined in 1974 before creating Star Wars: A New Hope”(1977). The script floated about for years, largely unread until Dark Horse Comics decided to make a comic series focusing on what “Star Wars” could have been had things turned out differently.

Mike Mayhew did the illustrations for the first issue. Influenced from Ralph McQuarrie he created an entirely new and yet familiar universe that fans will enjoy.
