Disney Plus released the first trailer for The Book of Boba Fett giving an us a look at the galaxy’s most notorious bounty hunter in the upcoming spinoff.
After his re-introduction in season two of The Mandalorian a spinoff for Boba Fett seems like a lifetime coming, but the wait is close to being over. Boba Fett has been a fan favorite after his two appearances in The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, which amounted to minimal screen time and only four lines of dialogue for both movies. When the prequels were released, fans were given a backstory as to how the eventual bounty hunter came to be.
The Book of Boba Fett begins where the post credit scene ended at the end of The Mandalorian’s second season, which saw Fett kill Bib Fortuna and take over what was once ran by Jabba the Hutt. Now it seems Boba Fett wants to establish order to all that Jabba ruled.
Temuera Morrison returns to his iconic helmet and the titular Fett, and Ming-Na Wen returns as the assassin Fennec Shand. No other casting news is known at this time, but hopefully as we get closer to the end of December, Disney and Lucasfilm will give us more info.
The Book of Boba Fett is directed by Robert Rodriguez, Jon Favreau, Bryce Dallas Howard, and Dave Filoni.
The Book of Boba Fett premieres December 29 exclusively on Disney+. Check out the trailer and some images, as well.
