Reggie’s 2014 Summer Movie Agenda

Now that we have hit the month of May, Hollywood begins it’s yearly onslaught of high priced, high-octane and sometimes over hyped big budget movies and the 2014 summer movie season is no different then previous years.

If you have visited my site any at all you know I’m a movie fan and even though the month of May has always been the unofficial kick off to the summer movie season I though I might share what movies have my attention in 2014.

I may not make it to all of the movies below, but these movies are the ones that have made my list of ones to go see. Some probably won’t live up to my expectations and others will surprise me as being better then I expected, but none the less the summer movie season for me has always been about going to your local movie theater with your big tub of popcorn and a big drink of your choosing and letting your mind escape the reality we call the real world.

If I want to see movies that make me think or even provoke the occasional emotional response I wait for the late fall when Hollywood hurry’s to get their movies they want considered for Oscar out to the theaters. Summertime I want the escape and fantasy I enjoyed in my childhood and the joy it brought, especially now as an adult, just to feel freedom from the world while my mind gets the recess it needs.

May Movies:

We’ve always known that Spider-Man’s most important battle has been within himself: the struggle between the ordinary obligations of Peter Parker and the extraordinary responsibilities of Spider-Man. But in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Peter Parker finds that a greater conflict lies ahead. It’s great to be Spider-Man (Andrew Garfield). For Peter Parker, there’s no feeling quite like swinging between skyscrapers, embracing being the hero, and spending time with Gwen (Emma Stone). But being Spider-Man comes at a price: only Spider-Man can protect his fellow New Yorkers from the formidable villains that threaten the city. With the emergence of Electro (Jamie Foxx), Peter must confront a foe far more powerful than he. 1. I rarely visit the cinema these days but I am looking forward to Godzilla and Guardians of the Galaxy. They will be the ones I am going to make an effort to go and see. Considering how much I enjoyed Ted I may give Seth Macfarlane’s film a go too.
