New Trailer and Posters for ‘Angel Has Fallen’

After taking back the White House from terrorists and saving the President from capture in London, Gerard Butler returns once again as Secret Service agent Mike Banning.

Angel Has Fallen looks to be more of a character-focused movie compared to the previous two films. It sees Mike Banning on the run after being arrested and wrongfully accused of attempting to assassinate President Allan Trumbull (Morgan Freeman).

If you weren’t a fan of the first two movies then there’s not much of a chance you’re going to like this one. However changing it up from terrorists or so we assume to Banning being accused and on the run could prove to be a nice change from 2013’s Olympus Has Fallen and 2016’s London Has Fallen. I will admit while watching this latest trailer I felt like I was watching a newer, lesser incarnation of The Fugitive except Banning isn’t looking for a one-arm man.

Personally I’ve enjoyed the previous two films and I’m looking forward to seeing Angel Has Fallen when it hits theaters. I actually like Gerard Butler in the role of Banning, it suits him well and when you include Morgan Freeman, one of my favorite actors of all time it’s hard to say no.

Will the “Fallen” franchise ever be considered one of the great action trilogies when all is said and done? No, and it doesn’t need to be either.  I actually enjoy a fun, mind numbing action movie every once in a while, it reminds me a little bit of the 80’s. Besides seeing Nick Nolte play a grizzled, mountain-man of a father to Gerard Butler’s, Banning who wouldn’t want to watch that?

Angel Has Fallen hits theaters on August 23, 2019.

Cast: Gerard Butler, Morgan Freeman, Jada Pinkett Smith, Lance Reddick, Tim Blake Nelson, Piper Perabo, Nick Nolte, Danny Huston
