Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith a film written and directed by George Lucas. It is the sixth and final film released in the Star Wars saga and the third in terms of the series’ internal chronology.
The film takes place three years after the onset of Episode II Attack of the Clones. It broke several box office records during its opening week and went on to earn over $848 million worldwide, making it the second-highest-grossing film in the Star Wars franchise. It was the highest grossing film of 2005 in the US, and the second highest-grossing film of 2005 worldwide.
