Nationwide Accident Sends Fans to the Hospital

On the last lap of the NASCAR Nationwide race at Daytona International Speedway on Saturday. The leaders were making their final moves for the victory as one car slams into the catchfence sending debris flying into the stands.

Regan Smith was leading the drafting pack when he moved to block Brad Keselowski, who bumped him. He checked up and the cars piled into the incident.

Kyle Larson’s car was launched into the fence injuring at least 28 people, two critically, during the multi-car pileup on the last lap allowing Tony Stewart to take the checkered flag.

The suspension and tires from Larson’s car flew into the fence, with one tire sailing over it. Officials confirmed that 14 people were transported to Halifax Medical Center off property and an additional 14 were treated in the at-track care center.
