Ant-Man Lead Down to Two

According to a report on line the title role for Edgar Wright’s Ant-Man has come down to two actors.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Paul Rudd apparently are the front-runners to play the lead role of “Hank Pym” a brilliant scientist who invents a substance that gives him the ability to shrink in size.

Gordon-Levitt and Rudd still must meet with Marvel executives one more time before a final decision is made.

Edgar Wright is wanting to cast a “normal looking actor” for the role. Filming is expected to begin sometime in 2014.

Ant-Man is scheduled to hit theaters July 31, 2015

History of Henry Pym:
Henry Pym was created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby and first appeared in Tales to Astonish #27. His first appearance in the Ant-Man persona was in Tales to Astonish #35.

Dr. Henry ‘Hank’ Pym became a superhero after discovering a chemical substance that would allow the user to alter his size. Armed with a helmet that could control ants, Pym would shrink down to the size of an insect to become the mystery-solving Ant-Man.

He soon shared his discovery with his girlfriend, Janet Van Dyne, who became his crime-fighting partner as the Wasp. The duo would become founding members of the Avengers.
