It’s no secret that Paul Rudd will be starring in the superhero movie Ant-Man in 2015, but exactly which version of Ant-Man seems to be the biggest question after Edgar Wright latest post on his blog.
Numerous characters have taken on and assumed the Ant-Man identity. Hank Pym is the first and best-known version of Ant-Man. He’s the scientist and the creator of the technology responsible for Ant-Man’s size-changing abilities. Then there’s Scott Lang, a thief who steals money for his sick daughter. After stealing the Ant-Man suit, Lang eventually finds himself fighting for good and continues the legacy of the super-shrinking hero.
Wright posted the Ant-Man image above to his blog with a single word comment, “Homework.” The image above comes from the animated series Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes and an episode called “To Steal An Ant-Man.” The storyline revolves around Scott Lang stealing the Ant-Man suit from Hank Pym.
Wright has in the past confirmed that Hank Pym will be a part of the Ant-Man story line, but has never specified that Hank Pym will be the central Ant-Man character.
Marvel Studios President of Production Kevin Feige has referred to Ant-Man as a heist movie and that would make sense knowing of the storyline in the animated episode of “To Steal An Ant-Man”.
This of course has the Ant-Man fan base and internet wondering exactly if this is to get everyone excited or if Wright is actually giving everyone an honest clue as to the movie plot itself?
Like everyone else we will have to wait and see come July 31, 2015 when Ant-Man opens in theaters.
