In the ever revolving casting and character roller coaster known as Batman vs Superman or Man of Steel 2, how ever you look at it another actor has been added to the growing cast.
According to Variety, Ray Fisher a Broadway actor has been hired to play Cyborg. Apparently Cyborg will not play a major role in the film, but Warner Brothers plans on using the character in a more significant way in future films that take place in the DC universe.
The character of Cyborg first appeared in a special insert in DC Comics Presents #26 in October of 1980. Cyborg is best known as a member of the Teen Titans. However, in August 2011, Cyborg was featured as one of the main characters in the new Justice League ongoing series as part of DC’s The New 52 relaunch.
Ray Fisher joins fellow cast members Henry Cavill as Superman, Ben Affleck as Batman and Gal Gadot on board to play Wonder Woman. Zac Snyder has previously claimed that he’s been casting his roles based on the script’s demands, first and foremost.
It’s still unknown how Cyborg will fit into Batman vs. Superman, but we do know that Jesse Eisenberg’s Lex Luthor will be the film’s primary villain. Amy Adams, Diane Lane, and Laurence Fishburne will reprise their roles from Man of Steel, while other additions to the cast also include Jeremy Irons and Holly Hunter.
The still to be titled Man of Steel sequel opens in theaters, May 6, 2016.
