Tom Hardy Leaves Suicide Squad
It was announced on Thursday that Tom Hardy would no longer be involved with the SUICIDE SQUAD because of scheduling issues and now that may not be the real reason.
It was just a couple of weeks ago the cast for DC’s SUICIDE SQUAD was announced and Tom Hardy would be playing Rick Flagg along side Will Smith, Jared Leto, Margot Robbie.
On Thursday according to several sources Hardy’s exit was due to a scheduling issue and Mad Max: Fury Road press commitments that fall in the middle of Suicide Squad filming. Friday, Latino-Review claims the real reason why Hardy has walked away is because he wasn’t a fan of the script, but left the project under amicable terms.
The latest script for the “Suicide Squad” given to the actors has given more screen time for Deadshot and The Joker, while lesser villains like Rick Flagg had their time cut as a result. This according to Latino-Review is the real reason why Hardy is walking away from the film and the studio was using scheduling issues as the main reason.
Knowing how big of a star Will Smith is and The joker being a very popular villain in the DC universe it’s not a surprise here at Reggie’s Take as to why the script would favour these actors/characters.
It’s also been rumoured that Jake Gyllenhaal may take over for Tom Hardy in the Rick Flagg role. If the script change is accurate will this influence Gyllenhaal decision? Only time will tell.
Suicide Squad is scheduled to hit theaters on August 5, 2016.
