Batman v Superman won’t hit theaters for another year still and new information came out today on how and who starts the fight between the man of steel and caped crusader. Spoiler Warning!
The new information released tells us that DC’s highly anticipated movie due out in theaters in 2016 is inspired by Frank Miller’s comic “The Dark Knight Returns”, but the movie is not based on it and should not be a big surprise.
Any comic book fan who’s read “The Dark Knight Returns” knows that Batman and Superman duke it out after the U.S. Government sends in Superman to remove Batman.
The website Badass Digest is reporting that in Batman v Superman Dawn of Justice it’s Lex Luthor who sends Superman to Gotham to take out Batman. Why would Lex want to do such a thing? The why is not answered by the way.
What they do tell us, if accurate, is an interesting piece of information.
In Batman v Superman Superman is no lackey of the government; if anything many of the world’s governments distrust the guy. But it is Superman who goes to Gotham and starts the confrontation… at the behest of Lex Luthor. And unlike The Dark Knight Returns, Superman comes out swinging, pulverizing the Batmobile with one punch. But when the fight is over, Batman will be able to point to Superman and say, “He started it!” Badass Digest
Since we are talking about Batman v Superman a picture of Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor was released today by Entertainment Weekly.
According to Entertainment Weekly, Zack Snyder told them to expect to see Lex Luthor like never before. Saying.
“He’s not any of the Lexes that you’ve seen, that’s for sure other than him being a captain of industry and one person to the world and another person to himself. And bald, of course. Our Lex is disarming and he’s not fake. He says what he believes and he says what’s on his mind. If you can unravel the string and decipher what he means, it’s all there.”
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice hits theaters on March 25, 2016.
