20th Century Fox on Monday released the final trailer for the latest installment in the X-Men franchise from director Bryan Singer and the “claws” have come out.
The latest trailer for Fox’s adaptation of Marvel’s biggest property is emphasizing the role of Jennifer Lawrence‘s Mystique. Mystique is now, essentially, the acting director of the X-Men after Professor X played by James McAvoy is hurt and seemingly kidnapped by the mutant-god Apocalypse.
The will he, won’t he of whether or not Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine would appear in X-Men: Apocalypse has come to an end as for over a year now speculation and rumors claiming one or the other, but now we know.
X-Men: Days of Future Past ended the 1970s Wolverine story arc and it would have been a mistake not to explain what happened to Wolverine after Mystique seemingly rescued him, but it appears that somehow Stryker still got a hold of him once again in the new timeline.
X-Men: Apocalypse is set to hit theaters on May 27, 2016
Cast: James McAvoy, Oscar Isaac, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult, Tye Sheridan, Rose Byrne, Sophie Turner, Olivia Munn, Lucas Till, Evan Peters, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Alexandra Shipp, Josh Helman, Lana Condor, and Ben Hardy.
