Universal on Wednesday released the first trailer for Despicable Me 3, as Gru, Lucy, and the Minions get ready for a new villain and new laughs.
Steve Carell the voice of “Gru” and Kristen Wiig who voices “Lucy” get ready to take on a former ’80s child star whose show was canceled after he hit puberty and now plans on world domination.
“South Park” creator Trey Parker will voice “Balthazar Bratt”. In this first trailer we see “Balthazar” wearing a purple jumpsuit, moon walking on the ocean to Michael Jackson’s “Bad” and it doesn’t stop there, as “Balthazar” is just obsessed with anything that came from the 1980’s.
He still sports everyone’s favorite hairstyle, the mullet, chews pink bubble gum and uses a Rubik’s Cube as a weapon.
Despicable Me 3 is technically the fourth movie in the franchise after the first two “Despicable Me” movies and the “Minions” spin-off film. The “Minions” movie alone grossed $1.2 billion in worldwide box office sales in 2015.
Despicable Me 3 will hit theaters on June 30, 2017.
