Darth Vader A Proper Sith Lord in Rogue One

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story was the first stand-alone movie in the Star Wars universe and one iconic character in four minutes of screen time made a huge impact.

A behind the scenes feature was released on-line giving us a look at the return of Darth Vader to the big screen for the first time since Return of the Jedi. Yes I know technically we saw Vader in Revenge of the Sith, but I really don’t count that in my book.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story comes to digital download on the 24th of March and Blu-ray on April 4th telling the story of how the Rebel Alliance was able to obtain the plans to the Death Star.

For anyone who’s seen the movie you know that Darth Vader only appears in two scenes that may add up to four minutes of screen time. His return in Rogue One in my opinion returned the character back to a proper Sith Lord. Some may read that last sentence as that I do not like the prequels when in reality I do, but not on the same level as the original trilogy.

The prequels have there bad points and there good points, but unfortunately not enough good ones to put them on the same level as the original trilogy.

The scene on Mustafar where Director Orson Krennic meets with Vader shows just how intimidating Vader can be. It’s obvious that this was Krennic’s first time meeting Vader face to face. Even something simple as Vader walking up to Krennic caused him to become extremely uncomfortable.

The scene that of course had everybody talking when they left the theater was that of Vader boarding the rebel ship and igniting his lightsaber murdering every Rebel solider that got in his way. This scene showed all of us just how big of a bad ass Vader could be. Something the previous movies never completely gave us and when they did never in the way Rogue One was able to do.

Below are three videos. The first one being the featurette and a glimpse of what we can expect to find on Digital HD and the blu-ray. The second video is the scene of Krennic and his meeting with Vader on Mutafar. The third and final video is the final fight scene where Vader unleashes his wrath and the rebels making there escape followed by the beginning of A New Hope and how the two movies really do fit so well together in telling both stories.
