Venom – Teaser Trailer…Everybody Just Breathe

On Thursday, Sony released the first teaser trailer for their upcoming Venom movie, as first reactions seemed to be mixed.

The first teaser trailer for Sony’s Venom was released on Thursday staring Tom Hardy. Even though the studio released the teaser very little is still known about the plot or what universe Venom as a movie will exist. Some reports say that Venom will exist in its own universe and will not be connected at all to Marvel’s Cinematic Universe. Lets hope that’s the case.

For those who are not familiar with the comics, Spider-Man comes into contact with an alien Symbiote who needs a host to survive and becomes Spider-Man’s new suit giving Spider-Man increased strength and aggression. When Spider-Man eventually sheds the symbiote it finds a new host, Eddie Brock who becomes Venom a grotesque version of Spider-Man.

The good thing with this version of Venom is you won’t have to know any of that, as this incarnation won’t even be connected to the Spider-Man character.

As for the teaser released by Sony, I enjoyed it. Yes, they didn’t show you one second of Venom and I was fine with that. I don’t see where they needed to show us Venom as the movie it self is still eight months away. Would of it been nice, sure, no one would of complained at all, but the old saying less is more I believe works here. Lets not forget this was just a “teaser” trailer.

Over the last few years Hollywood has been giving us to many trailers. When a trailer like Venom is released everyone is complaining because they didn’t show us what we felt we deserved, but at the same time Hollywood sometimes can over share and give us too much of a movie by giving us to many trailers reviling to much of a movie.

Some out there may not remember when the only time you were able to see a trailer for an upcoming movie was by actually going to the theater to watch a movie.

Sony not showing us Venom in a teaser trailer does not automatically mean the movie will be bad or good, as everyone should remain patient.
