The Addams Family (2019) Official Trailer

MGM has released the first official trailer for their upcoming animated The Addams Family movie that sees the return of the kookiest family to the big screen.

Starring Oscar Isaac and Charlize Theron as the voices of Gomez and Morticia Addams in this computer-animated relaunch of The Addams Family, with the director of Sausage Party, Conrad Vernom bringing his sense of humor to the creepiest, kookiest family.

The first full-length trailer for The Addams Family is a bit of an improvement from the teaser trailer released back in April. It does give us a better look at the movies plot that sees the Addams move to New Jersey, Wednesday re-animating frogs Frankenstein-style and neighbors rallying others to try and drive the Addams out of town.

Reggie’s Take:
I’ll be honest; I haven’t been thrilled with what I’ve seen with the teaser trailer and with this first full-length trailer. I love the Addams Family, I liked the 1960’s television show and I especially loved the two movies from the early 90’s.

I want to love this new animated movie, but even after watching the full-length trailer I just can’t get excited about it. I don’t have an issue with the animation style or the look of the family, I don’t have a problem with the voice cast, I just haven’t found anything funny about the movie, I will take that back, I did like the whole frog scene with Wednesday, but one scene doesn’t mean the movie will be good.

Now it’s totally possible this version of The Addams Family could turn out to be one of the funniest animated movies of all time, but for now the trailers don’t have me convinced of that.

I’ve watched trailers for movies that blew my socks off and the movie itself was a disappointment and I’ve seen trailers to movies that made me think this movie has got to suck and the movie proved me wrong. I’m hoping the latter turns out to be true for The Addams Family, but for now I will cross my fingers and hope for the best.
