Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker – D23 Special Look

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker sizzle reel that was shown to fans at Disney’s D23 Expo on Saturday, featuring new footage has finally been released to the public.

If you weren’t lucky enough to attend Disney’s D23 Expo this past weekend you were forced (no pun intended) to read what had everyone talking about and that of course was, Rey wearing dark Sith robes wielding a double-bladed red lightsaber, to which everyone was loosing their minds over.

Was it awesome seeing Rey looking like a Sith wielding a two-sided red lightsaber? Of course it was, but before we all start jumping to conclusions lets think about it for a moment. Would J.J. Abrams one of the best directors in Hollywood at keeping secrets and not letting any spoilers of any kind to be revealed actually allow a huge reveal like that to be put in a trailer of any kind four months before it’s scheduled release? Oh Hell NO.

Now that we’ve thought that through it’s pretty safe to assume that the image of Rey looking like a Sith with a red lightsaber is there to get everyone talking about the many possibilities. Is it still possible that Rey turns to the Dark Side? Sure, but I’m willing to bet my Star Wars collection it’s not happening.

The Rise of Skywalker is the final installment in the sequel trilogy that began with 2015’s The Force Awakens and concludes the nine-part Skywalker saga that started with Star Wars Episode IV – A New Hope in 1977, but chronologically begins with The Phantom Menace. The first half of this trailer reflects back on the previous eight films in the Skywalker saga.
