Star Wars: The Evolution of the Stormtrooper

A new video released by Lucasfilm is giving fans a chance to look back at all the various designs of the Stormtrooper and how their look has evolved.

The stormtrooper or “bucketheads” have always served as the backbone of the Imperial Military as frontline assault forces. When Darth Sidious declared himself Emperor of the First Galactic Empire, bringing an end to the Clone Wars and the Republic the clone troopers that fought for the Republic became the Empire’s first stormtroopers.

Eventually the Empire shut down Kamino’s cloning production and all future stormtroopers would be recruited and trained for absolute loyalty and obedience.

This new video takes a look back at the classic stormtrooper we were first introduced to with Star Wars in 1977 and the varying designs introduced with each movie that came afterwards from Empire and Return of the Jedi all the way up to the newest Star Wars movie The Rise of Skywalker due out in December.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywlker is due out in theaters on December 20, 2019.
