Warner Brothers released a new trailer for Birds of Prey and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn that sees Margot Robbie reprising her role as Harley Quinn.
After releasing the first trailer back in October of 2019, Warner Brothers releases the second trailer for Birds of Prey with just under a month before the movie is set to hit theaters. The trailer makes it clear that Harley and Mr. J (Joker) have broken off their relationship and without Mr. J’s protection Harley learns she has plenty of enemies in Gotham.
The new trailer lets us know that each of the women all have a common enemy that brings them together, the Black Mask. Ewan McGregor who stars as the Black Mask is seen wearing a white suit like you would see in the comics, but we also got our first look at the mask.
While I’ve always felt that Margot Robbie and Will Smith were the two best parts of Suicide Squad it also under utilized Jared Leto as the Joker. In some ways I wish this movie revolved around those three characters, but that’s not the case here.
While the first trailer was okay, this second trailer has more of my interest in wanting to see the movie. The action looks fun and getting to see Ewan McGregor, as the villain will be a nice departure at least for me as I’m so use to seeing him as Obi-Wan.
I do like that they went with the R rating. Does that mean the movie will automatically be good? Of course not. What I do want to see is Warner Brothers winning streak to continue with Birds of Prey after the success of Aquaman and Shazam!.
Cast: Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Huntress; Jurnee Smollett-Bell as Black Canary; Rosie Perez as Renee Montoya; Chris Messina as Victor Zsasz; Ewan McGregor as Roman Sionis; Ella Jay Basco as Cassandra “Cass” Cain
Birds of Prey Synopsis:
You ever hear the one about the cop, the songbird, the psycho and the mafia princess? “Birds of Prey (And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn)” is a twisted tale told by Harley herself, as only Harley can tell it. When Gotham’s most nefariously narcissistic villain, Roman Sionis, and his zealous right-hand, Zsasz, put a target on a young girl named Cass, the city is turned upside down looking for her. Harley, Huntress, Black Canary and Renee Montoya’s paths collide, and the unlikely foursome have no choice but to team up to take Roman down.
