Star Wars Episode VII Official Cast

This will be a day long remembered. It has seen the end of the rumors; it will soon see the start of filming. After months of rumors and speculation we finally have our cast for the next Star Wars film.

If you’re a Star Wars fan like my self then your already aware of the announcement that was made by Disney and Lucasfilm. The cast of Star Wars Episode VII has officially been set.

Most of us were already aware that Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher and Mark Hamill would be reprising their roles from the original trilogy. Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew, and Kenny Baker also from the original movies will be joining their friends. Probably the biggest name missing is Billy Dee Williams, who at one time was also rumored to be returning. The fact that Lando wont be back on the big screen could explain why John Boyega is part of the cast. (Could John Boyega be playing the son of Lando? Just a thought)

Joining the actor from the original movies are John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, and Max von Sydow. Of course Disney only released who would be staring in the movie, not who they would be playing.

Director J.J. Abrams said, “We are so excited to finally share the cast of Star Wars: Episode VII. It is both thrilling and surreal to watch the beloved original cast and these brilliant new performers come together to bring this world to life, once again. We start shooting in a couple of weeks, and everyone is doing their best to make the fans proud.”

Now that the cast is set the next wave of rumors can now begin.

1. What roles will the new actors be playing? It’s widely assumed that the new comers to the franchise will be the ones carrying the torch forward in episodes 8 and 9.

2. What will be the exact name of the movie? Right now it’s just being called Episode VII. Whatever the name is, will for sure set off a fury of speculation as to the plot and thinking of Abrams and Kasdan.

3. The plot and or direction of this new trilogy? Exactly what was George Lucas’s outline for this new trilogy that he had outlined and turned over after the sale to Disney? After all they did retain him as a story consultant and if the rumors were true was on board with the direction Abrams wanted to take this new movie when he took over the writing.

I’m sure as the months go on and pictures from the set are leaked to the web and you know some will appear, will cause even more rumors and debate.
