Warner Brothers and DC Comics Schedule

When it comes to Warner Brothers, it’s no secret on just how far behind they are compared to Marvel Studios and its comic book properties.

According to the latest Internet news, Warner Brothers plans on announcing the following line-up of movies they intend to release to the theaters, beginning with Batman v Superman Dawn of Justice in May of 2016.

May 2016 – Batman v Superman
July 2016 – Shazam
Xmas 2016 – Sandman
May 2017 – Justice League
July 2017 – Wonder Woman
Xmas 2017 – Flash and Green Lantern team-up
May 2018 – Man Of Steel 2

As with any Internet scuttlebutt this list is unconfirmed by the studio itself. This of course is not the first time hearing of Warner Brothers developing it’s DC characters for a line of movies, previous reports had the studio busy planning 11 different DC film projects.

Also according to the same source the Batman v Superman delay had nothing to do with the script or an actor. The film was delayed to give Warner Brothers more time to sign the necessary actors/actresses to key roles in future DC movies so they could tease the audience in the Batman v Superman Dawn of Justice movie.

As a note the “Shazam” film on the list for a possible 2016 release could be “The Rock” aka Dwayne Johnson’s mystery role. Johnson has been in talks with Warner Brothers for his own DC franchise film, but no word has ever come from the studio as to exactly what that role is.

Warner Brothers is expected to announce an official list of DC movies in July at Comic Con. it will be interesting to see if their list and this list match up any at all.
