The Simpsons Go Original Star Trek

This past Sunday’s episode of The Simpsons entitled “The Man Who Came to be Dinner” was a sci-fi adventure for Homer and his family that paid homage to the original Star Trek show.

“The Man Who Came to be Dinner” featured the reoccurring aliens, Kang and Kodos who take The Simpsons family to their home planet where the inhabitants try to eat Homer. With plenty of sci-fi references and jokes through out the episode the creative talent behind the show saved what I thought was the best for last when they recreated the original Star Trek series closing credits.

Granted it’s not a faithful recreation with a couple of extra characters that wouldn’t of been in the actual closing credits, but it’s the overall effort that I applaud as a Trek fan and Simpsons fan. See what you think.

  1. Those are some great images but I think the Simpsons’ multi-cultural bromance of Lenny and Carl as Belle and Loki wins for me. Brilliant.
