Hollywood Casting News

by Reggie's Take

Two leading Hollywood actors both land roles in movies that are expected to be box office hits for their respective studios.

When the fifth Bourne movie begins filming later this summer we may not know the official title of the film, but it will have Tommy-Lee Jones starring along side Matt Damon.

Oscar-winning actor Tommy-Lee Jones will join Matt Damon, Alicia Vikander, Julia Stiles and possibly Viggo Mortensen for the franchise’s fifth installment. Viggo Mortensen has been offered the role of the villain, but no confirmed reports on if he’s accepted.

Variety is reporting that Mr. Jones will play a high ranking official in the CIA, similar to roles played by Edward Norton, Chris Cooper, Brian Cox and David Strathairn in earlier Bourne movies.

Matt Damon, Paul Greengrass, and Christopher Rouse are writing the script for the next Bourne movie. No details of the plot or story are known at this time. Paul Greengrass will also be returning to the director’s chair.

Whatever the title turns out to be “Bourne 5” is expected to hit theaters on July 29, 2016.

In other Hollywood news the Captain of the Starship Enterprise has reportedly finalized a deal that will have him appearing in the DC Universe.

Chris Pine who’s currently playing Captain Kirk for the third time on the set of the latest Star Trek movie will be getting a promotion when he jumps over to Warner Brothers and DC to play Colonel Steve Trevor.

Steve Trevor is the romantic interest of Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot); Trevor debuted in the comics right alongside Wonder Woman in 1942’s “All Star Comics” #8. The character has been rebooted many times through out the years; the original incarnation of Trevor was a US soldier whose plane crash lands on Paradise Island, exposing the secret civilization to the rest of the world. Steve Trevor would later become the Justice League’s government liaison.

According to reports Chris Pine’s role of Steve Trevor “Will be no mere love interest for Gadot’s Diana Prince, as there will be plenty of action to keep him busy.”

Before we get to see Chris Pine make his DC debut Wonder Woman will first be seen in “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” in March of 2016. Wonder Woman’s solo movie will hit theaters on June 23, 2017 before Justice League Part One roars into theaters on November 10, 2017.

Chris Pine’s deal With Warner Brothers and DC is a multi movie deal that includes sequels and one would assume the Justice League movies would be included in that.
