Warner Brothers late Wednesday night released the 2nd full-length trailer for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and it looks as if WB as brought a big bat to the plate, no pun intended.
Unless your living on a deserted island or your just not a comic book fan then you’ve already seen the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice trailer by now and after watching it several times Dawn of Justice looks to be as exciting as everyone has been hoping for.
The powers to be over at Warner Brothers and DC have been saying for months now that the DC Extended Universe will strike a darker, more grounded reality then what Marvel is doing. Okay, first no matter what the tone is you really can’t say that one studios superhero franchise is better grounded then the other, we’re talking about superhero movies.
As a movie fan I’ve loved what Marvel has done so far in building their universe. Each of Marvel’s movies can really be watched individually and at the same time when you lay them out from the first Iron-Man movie to Ant-Man makes up a wonderful inter connected universe.
As a superhero fan in general, Batman has always been my favorite character and I’m looking forward to seeing what Warner Brothers and Ben Affleck will give me in this latest incarnation of the character. Just from what I’ve seen in the trailers this Batman has the potential to be something that the fans have not seen before. That’s not a bad a thing especially since Nolan’s Batman trilogy wrapped up less then four years ago and left a huge impression on a lot of fans.
My favorite line from this newest trailer comes from Affleck as “Bruce Wayne” talking to Cavill’s “Clark Kent”
“Maybe it’s just the Gotham City in me we just have a bad history with freaks dressed like clowns.”
Of course the trailer also shows us what most already suspected as we get our first look at the villain Doomsday, who looks to be the one that brings together Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman.
My only possible qualm with the trailer would be Jesse Eisenberg’s “Luthor” seems to have a little “Joker” quality to him. I don’t mind if this version of “Luthor” is a bit quirky, but I want to see more of a evil, angry side and leave the corniness to the actual Joker.
Check out the trailer and images from the trailer below and let me know what you think.
