A digital and physical production company who was behind the many props and costumes for The Force Awakens is now offering a chance to own your very own replica.
Propshop the company behind the actual props used in the movie is in collaboration with Lucasfilm and now are offering fans a chance to own exact replicas of selected props. Proshop is actually located at Pinewood Studios in London, where The Force Awakens was filmed.
Chewbacca’s bowcaster, Kylo Ren’s lightsaber, Rey’s staff and Finn’s Stormtrooper helmet are just a few of the props being recreated the same exact way the original props were made for the film and hand painted by the same prop makers.
Proshop wanted the replicas to be so exact that if you were to put the originals used for the film up next to them you wouldn’t be able to tell the difference.
The video below gives you an idea of the process needed to recreate the replicas for interested buyers. It takes Proshop about two weeks from start to finish just to have any one replica ready to be sold. Each replica also comes with a chip inserted into it to for certificate of authenticity.
If you’re interested in purchasing one of these magnificent and stunning replicas it will set your pocketbook back just a bit, but it would be well worth it for any avid Star Was collector.
