Rogue One is due out to theaters in December and Lucasfilm is asking fans to create their own stop-motion videos.
To celebrate the creativity of Star Wars fans, Lucasfilm and the creative network Tongal have collaborated with a team of fans to create a series of short stop-motion videos that feature new products for Rogue One.
These videos beside being fun to watch also announce a contest entitled “Go Rogue” where fans will be able to share their own creative “Rogue One” stories or skits set in everyone’s favorite galaxy. The contest will begin on September 30th.
“These fan-created shorts are a tribute to the incredible content that the Star Wars community posts online every day. The Go Rogue campaign was designed with Star Wars fans in mind — we want them to be front and center in the run up to Rogue One by imagining and creating their own Rogue Stories.” Said, Jimmy Pitaro, chairman, Disney Consumer Products and Interactive Media
The winners of the “Go Rogue” contest will be chosen and judged by a panel that will also include Rogue One: A Star Wars Story director Gareth Edwards and invited to a screening of “Rogue One” and have their entries shown up on the big screen.
