Just when you think another new trailer couldn’t possibly drop this week 20th Century Fox released the first trailer for “War for the Planet of the Apes.”
The third movie in the “rebooted” prequel Planet of the Apes franchise picks up two years after Caesar fought Koba in an internal civil war of sorts. Now embroiled in a war between apes and humans, Caesar has to contend with a Colonel played by Woody Harrelson, whose death could bring an end to the war that Caesar never wanted.
This first trailer for War for the Planet of the Apes was visually exciting especially with the movie being set in the heart of winter something that has not been seen before in an Apes movie.
Listening to Caesar’s voice-over in the trailer you can hear his frustration with the humans and his attempts to maintain some kind of truce that the humans want none of. If the third movie in this new franchise is the last movie then we should see the apes taking their place as the dominant species on Earth.
War for the Planet of the Apes hits in theaters on July 14, 2017.
Cast: Andy Serkis, Woody Harrelson, Steve Zahn, Amiah Miller, Karin Konoval & Terry Notary
