Blade Runner 2049 first teaser trailer was released on Monday, the follow-up to director Ridley Scott’s classic 1980s sci-fi film.
First he returned to the role of “Han Solo” in the “Force Awakens” and then it was announced he would return for a fifth “Indiana Jones” film. What else is left for Harrison Ford to do? Oh yeah, reprise the role of Rick Deckard in the sequel to “Blade Runner”.
Developed by Ridley Scott and Hampton Fancher who wrote the screenplay for the original “Blade Runner”, “Blade Runner 49” script was also written by Fancher along with Michael Green who just happened to write Scott’s upcoming Alien: Covenant.
With this first teaser trailer that gives nothing away about the story, but does a nice job of re-introducing us to the world of Blade Runner thirty years later.
Ryan Gosling character known only as “K” is a LAPD Officer that sets out to find Deckard after K uncovers secrets that could throw everything into chaos. Although by the look of the teaser the world in which they live in looks pretty bleak already.
It was confirmed that Harrison Ford was not on set for the first several months of filming on Blade Runner 2049 which means Ford’s character of Deckard most likely won’t make an appearance until late in the second act or early in the third.
Blade Runner 2049 opens October 6, 2017.
Director: Denis Villeneuve
Cast: Ryan Gosling, Harrison Ford, Mackenzie Davis, Jared Leto, Dave Bautista, Carla Juri, Barkhad Abdi, and Robin Wright
