Behind the Scenes of Alien: Covenant

Adam Savage the former Mythbuster visited the set of of Alien: Covenant with a look at what it takes in set construction for his Tested video series.

One of the set pieces Adam takes a look at is the Dreadnaught set that we saw in the movie Prometheus, but it wasn’t the same one, it was rebuilt from scratch.

The video below is an insightful inside look at how Director Ridley Scott still uses practical sets even in a film that will use plenty of computer effects in order to blend both into a seamless look.

Alien: Covenant will bring us one step closer to Scott’s first Alien film from 1979. Prometheus was criticized by both fans and critics a like.

Adam Savage visits the production of Alien: Covenant to learn how Ridley Scott and his creative collaborators bring us back into the Alien universe. In this first episode of our behind-the-scenes series, Adam tours the massive set of the Dreadnought as it’s being built, painted, and weathered to life by the production team in preparation for filming!
