The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part Teaser Trailer

Warner Brothers on Tuesday revealed the first teaser trailer for the highly anticipated animated sequel to The Lego Movie, The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part.

The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part won’t actually arrive in theaters until February of 2019, but the debut teaser trailer expands on the ending of The LEGO Movie by creating a post-apocalyptic world. Like all teaser trailers it does nothing in revealing the plot of the sequel.

After their work on Solo: A Star Wars Story came to an end Lord and Miller returned to The LEGO Movie 2 taking on a bigger role in creating the script for the movie. Chris McKay who directed the first Lego Movie was originally going to direct the sequel, but left to make The LEGO Batman Movie. Mike Mitchell who directed Trolls took over the job when Rob Schrab stepped away over creative differences.

“The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part” reunites the heroes of Bricksburg in an all new action-packed adventure to save their beloved city. It’s been five years since everything was awesome and the citizens are facing a huge new threat: LEGO DUPLO® invaders from outer space, wrecking everything faster than they can rebuild. The battle to defeat them and restore harmony to the LEGO universe will take Emmet, Lucy, Batman and their friends to faraway, unexplored worlds, including a strange galaxy where everything is a musical. It will test their courage, creativity and Master Building skills, and reveal just how special they really are.
