The First ‘Dark Phoenix’ Trailer Has Arrived

20th Century Fox released the first trailer for the newest X-Men movie, Dark Phoenix as Jean Grey assumes the power of the Phoenix.

20th Century Fox newest X-Men movie will try to take on the comic book story line The Dark Phoenix Saga. In the comics Jean Grey is exposed to deadly radiation from a solar flare, and briefly achieves her ultimate potential as a telepath and telekinetic. Jean becomes a being of pure thought, and reforms herself upon her return to Earth with the identity and power of the Phoenix.

With any comic book adaptation the Dark Phoenix movie won’t use the exact story line from the comics, but it does looks like a better adaptation than what Fox tried to give us with X-Men: The Last Stand.

Dark Phoenix sees the return of James McAvoy‘s Professor X and Michael Fassbender‘s Magneto with Sophie Turner as Jean Grey.

Dark Phoenix Official Synopsis:
The X-MEN face their most formidable and powerful foe: one of their own, Jean Grey. During a rescue mission in space, Jean is nearly killed when she is hit by a mysterious cosmic force. Once she returns home, this force not only makes her infinitely more powerful, but far more unstable. Wrestling with this entity inside her, Jean unleashes her powers in ways she can neither comprehend nor contain. With Jean spiraling out of control, and hurting the ones she loves most, she begins to unravel the very fabric that holds the X-Men together. Now, with this family falling apart, they must find a way to unite — not only to save Jean’s soul, but to save our very planet from aliens who wish to weaponize this force and rule the galaxy.
