The first teaser trailer for director Jon Favreau‘s “The Lion King” a re-imagining of the 1994 animated classic has been released by Disney.
Jon Favreau who directed Disney’s live action The Jungle Book (2016) that employed a mixture of CGI and live-action has taken on the challenge of remaking what many would consider the greatest animated movie of all time.
If you want to get picky Favreau’s The Lion King is technically not a live action movie. Like 2016’s The Jungle Book the movie is completely CGI, but if you didn’t know better you would swear you were watching something actually filmed in the jungles of Africa.
If you are a fan of the original animated movie and didn’t feel some sort of nostalgia or get goosebumps while watching the teaser trailer for Favreau’s The Lion King then you may not be of this Earth.
The best part of this teaser, besides the stunning visual effects was hearing the great James Earl Jones as Mufasa narrating over the first part of the trailer.
The all-star cast includes Donald Glover as Simba, Beyoncé Knowles-Carter as Nala, Chiwetel Ejiofor as Scar, James Earl Jones as Mufasa, Billy Eichner as Timon and Seth Rogen as Pumbaa and Alfre Woodard as Sarabi
