‘Captain Marvel’ Fly’s High At The Box Office

Marvel’s newest entry into their Cinematic Universe, Captain Marvel soared to the top of the box office this weekend despite some Internet morons.

Captain Marvel starring Brie Larson is the latest success for the Disney-owned MCU after blasting off to a nice $153 million debut domestically and another $302 million from foreign markets giving Captain Marvel a $455 million global take despite some internet morons who tried to affect Captain Marvel’s box office by starting a campaign to lower the movies audience score prior to being released into theaters.

How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World in its third weekend took the second spot with $14.6 million and Tyler Perry’s A Madea Family Funeral finished in the third spot with $12 million.

Since 2015, Marvel’s MCU have only had two films open under $100,000 million those being Ant-Man and Ant-Man & The Wasp. Captain Marvel’s $153 million puts it in the seventh spot when it comes to domestic opening weekends for the MCU putting it behind Iron Man 3 and right above Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.

Some out there keep asking if “superhero fatigue” is setting in and with such movies like Shazam!, Avengers: End Game and Spider-Man Far From Home still to come I don’t think 2019 will be the year “superhero fatigue” becomes a concern.
