Earlier today Disney released the first full-length trailer for its upcoming live-action remake of Aladdin.
After two previous trailers that didn’t give audiences much to go on and a television spot revealing Will Smith’s Genie that received plenty of criticisms, Tuesday’s first full-length trailer finally gives us our best look at Will Smith and the movie.
This newest trailer is without a doubt focused on the live-action elements along with the very impressive production design. Directed by Guy Ritchie, starring Mena Massoud as Aladdin and Naomi Scott as the beautiful Princess Jasmine.
Will Smith who will play the live-action version of the Genie, has the hardest job, hands down. Smith has to make the Genie his own without doing an outright imitation of the late Robin Williams, but at the same time make his version of the Genie just as memorable. Something the audience will be paying close attention to, especially those who grew up loving the animated Aladdin movie.
Aladdin opens in theaters on May 24, 2019
Cast: Will Smith, Mena Massoud, Naomi Scott also staring Marwan Kenzari as Jafar, Navid Negahban as the Sultan, Nasim Pedrad, Billy Magnussen and Numan Acar.
