Paramount has released the first trailer for the movie Crawl a horror/disaster film that finds Kaya Scodelario fighting alligators during a hurricane.

Crawl finds Barry Pepper (Saving Private Ryan) trapped in the crawl space of his Florida home when it slowly begins to flood as the result of a hurricane. Kaya Scodelario who plays Pepper’s daughter finds him gravely injured when both realize the rising water is the least of their worries.

After watching the trailer it reminds me of several different movies all rolled into one. Take the movie Hard Rain, Lake Placid, Jaws and a little of Sharknado stuffed into a blender and Crawl is the result when poured into a glass. I’m not saying its a bad thing, it could be very entertaining in a good way if they remember not to take themselves to seriously.

I’ve never been big on these type of horror movies, but for Crawl, count me on board. Crawl opens in theaters on July 12th.
