Sony has released a new trailer for Spider-Man: Far From Home, but if you haven’t gone out and watched Avengers: Endgame yet, then don’t go any further.
Spider-Man: Far From Home sees Peter Parker (Tom Holland) leaving his Spidy suit behind for a school trip to Europe with his friends that is until Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) shows up to recruit Parker.
If you’ve seen Avengers: Endgame then its pretty obvious that Far From Home takes place post Endgame as Peter Parker and Happy Hogan are doing their best to move on after the loss of Tony Stark. We also learn that as a result of the snap from Endgame a multiverse has opened up allowing Mysterio (Jake Gyllenhaal) to arrive from another Earth.
I’m not sure how I feel about the possibility of Marvel introducing the idea of a multiverse into the MCU. I realize it’s been done in the comics, but if not handled correctly it could become a cheap and easy tool to explain or undo story elements as they move along. At this point I will give my full trust to Kevin Feige and wait to see how Spider-Man: Far From Home handles it.
Cast: Tom Holland, Samuel L. Jackson, Jake Gyllenhaal, Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Jon Favreau, Marisa Tomei, Cobie Smulders, Angourie Rice, Martin Starr, JB Smoove
