IT Chapter 2 Teaser

Warner Brothers has released the first trailer for IT Chapter Two, the sequel to the 2017 film of a killer clown and adolescences.

IT Chapter 2 is set 27 years after the first film with an all grown up Losers Club. The trailer begins with Jessica Chastain as Beverly Marsh talking with an old woman who doesn’t seem to be as she appears in her former childhood home. An old image hanging on the wall reveals the old woman’s “parentage” through the circus and Pennywise.

Bill Skarsgard who was creepily good in the first movie reprises his role of Pennywise the dancing clown. James McAvoy stars as Bill Denbrough, Jessica Chastain takes oover the role of Beverly Marsh, Bill Hader will play Richie Tozer, James Ransone will portray Eddie Kaspbrak, Jay Ryan will tackle Ben Hanscom, and Isaiah Mustafa is Mike Hanlon.

Reggie’s Take
Stephen King’s IT is the only book I’ve ever read from the acclaimed author. I enjoyed it, but I’ve never felt the need to read any of his other novels.

I even watched the miniseries that aired on television in the early 1990’s. It was okay for what it was, but I felt it skipped over too much of what was in the book that made it such a fun and creepy read.

As far as the 2017 movie, I loved it. I thought it was wonderfully done with just the right amount of heart, creepiness and adventure that I couldn’t wait for them to do chapter 2. At first I wasn’t sure what to think of this first trailer, but after taking some time I really feel it works.

The one thing I’m really hoping for is that Warner Brothers doesn’t give us too much over the next several months. Give me a second trailer that has a little more Pennywise and focuses a little more on the other adults from the Losers Club and I will be ready for this movie.

IT Chapter 2 hits theaters on September 6, 2019
