Pixar’s ‘Onward’, Cometh Soon In First Trailer

Disney-Pixar released the first teaser trailer for Onward, the animation studio’s first non-sequel release in nearly three years by the time it hits theaters in early 2020.

Onward is an original story taking place in the suburbs of a fantasy world that sees two teenage elf brothers set out on a glorious quest. The Teaser trailer gives you nothing of what the movie or there “quest” will be about, but does plenty when it comes to establishing the world they live in.

After watching the teaser I got the impression of a buddy, heavy on the 80’s vibe road trip movie set in a fantasy world with dragons as pets, mushroom style homes and trash-eating unicorns. If there’s one thing you give Pixar when it comes to new original movies, that’s the benefit of the doubt. The teaser alone for Onward already has me intrigued. If there’s one down side, it’s that Onward doesn’t open in theaters until March of 2020.

Pixar’s Onward features the voice talents of Tom Holland, Chris Pratt, Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Octavia Spencer. The remainder of the voice cast is expected to be revealed at a later date.
