Warner Brothers has released the Birds of Prey and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn trailer that sees the return of Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn.
One of the bright spots from 2016’s Suicide Squad was that of Margot Robbie and Will Smith. Warner Brothers wanting to capitalize on Robbie’s popularity as Harley have spun her off in her own movie, one that see her fresh off a breakup with Mr. J (Joker, Jared Leto) and looking for a fresh start.
Harley has returned to Gotham City and finds herself teaming up with a gang of fellow females to rescue Cassandra Cain, a k a Batgirl (Ella Jay Basco), from the Black Mask, played by Ewan McGregor. In case you are not familiar Cassandra Cain first appeared in Batman #567 comic book and is one of several who have assumed the role of Batgirl over the years.
“Birds of Prey,” is directed by Cathy Yan and is scheduled to hit theaters on February 7, 2020.
I liked Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn in Suicide Squad and as interesting as this trailer looks I haven’t been able to decide yet if I like or hate it. Yes, there are something’s that caught my attention and I will most likely go see it when it hits theaters, but right now I’m not overly excited about it. Personally I would of been more interested in a Deadshot movie starring Will Smith. However I doubt I will ever get that movie.
If I had to pick out a favorite moment from this trailer it would be when you hear Harley say…
“I’m the one you should be scared of, Not you, not Mr. J. Because I’m Harley Freaking Quinn.”
Cast: Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Jurnee Smollett-Bell as Black Canary, Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Helena Bertinelli, aka Huntress, Ella Jay Basco as Cassandra Cain, Rosie Perez as Gotham City detective Renee Montoya, Chris Messina as Victor Zsasz, and Ewan McGregor as the Black Mask.
