Warner Bros. released the first official trailer for Space Jam 2: A New Legacy as NBA icon LeBron James and Bugs Bunny alongside the rest of the Looney Tunes are forced to take on the Goon Squad.
The long-awaited sequel to 1996’s Space Jam, that starred Michael Jordan, finds LeBron James encouraging his son to follow in his footsteps in basketball, but when his son wants to pursue his own path both James and his son find themselves in a bizarre digital space.
An evil computer algorithm, AI-G Rhythm, played by Avenger’s star Don Cheadle takes LeBron’s son away, LeBron finds himself in Tune World to assemble “an elite team” for a game of basketball with the help of Bugs Bunny and his Looney Tunes pals to defeat Al-G-Rhythm’s digitized Goon Squad.
Besides LeBron and your favorite Looney Tunes, Space Jam: A New Legacy will also feature several other Warner Bros. characters and Easter eggs for fans to be on the lookout for, including The Iron Giant, The Flintstones, King Kong, Scooby-Doo many more.
Space Jam 2: A New Legacy will be released in theaters nationwide on July 16, 2021 and will also be available in the U.S. on HBO Max.
