With just under three months before its July release Marvel drops the first trailer for Thor: Love and Thunder.
Chris Hemsworth returns as the god of thunder in Thor: Love and Thunder along with several familiar faces that include Chris Pratt’s Peter Quill and the Guardians who are obviously still traveling with Thor since we last saw them at the conclusion of End Game. This first teaser also shows us Tessa Thompson returning as Valkyrie and Russell Crowe as Zeus on Olympus.
Natalie Portman for the first time since Thor: The Dark World is returning as Jane Foster, but with an awesome twist as she has taken up the mantle of Thor. We get a brief glimpse of her holding Mjölnir, Thor’s reconstructed hammer that was smashed by Hela (Cate Blanchett) in Thor: Ragnarok.
Taika Waititi returns to the director’s chair after the huge success with 2017’s Ragnarok. Waititi will also be reprising his role as Korg the very friendly rock creature. Thor: Love and Thunder, will also see Christian Bale, Dave Bautista, and Pom Klementieff when it hits theaters on July 8.
Thor: Love and Thunder finds Thor (Chris Hemsworth) on a journey unlike anything he’s ever faced – a quest for inner peace. But his retirement is interrupted by a galactic killer known as Gorr the God Butcher (Christian Bale), who seeks the extinction of the gods. To combat the threat, Thor enlists the help of King Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson), Korg (Taika Waititi) and ex-girlfriend Jane Foster (Natalie Portman), who – to Thor’s surprise – inexplicably wields his magical hammer, Mjolnir, as the Mighty Thor. Together, they embark upon a harrowing cosmic adventure to uncover the mystery of the God Butcher’s vengeance and stop him before it’s too late.
