Black Adam

Warner Bros. released the first official trailer for Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam in a new, action-packed trailer.

Johnson’s Black Adam is given the powers of the ancient gods and immediately imprisoned. 5,000 years later he is freed from his tomb ready to “unleash his unique form of justice” on the modern world. When it comes to the comics Black Adam first appeared in 1945 as an ancient corrupt supervillain, who was given powers by the wizard Shazam and over time has evolved from a Shazam supervillain to an antihero.

The trailer briefly introduces members of the Justice Society of America, who has had different lineups over the years and is similar to the Justice League. It will also mark the first live-action appearance of the Justice Society of America, up on the big screen.

Hawkman, played by Aldis Hodge is one of the JSA’s heroes. Hawkman has been a long time DC staple who has popped up in live-action television like Smallville and the Arrowverse, but this will be the first time the character has appeared in a live-action movie.

Other superheroes appearing in Black Adam are Noah Centineo as Atom Smasher, Quintessa Swindell as Cyclone and Pierce Brosnan as Doctor Fate. The remaining cast members are Marwan Kenzari, James Cusati-Moyer, Bodhi Sabongui, Mo Amer and Uli Latukefu,
