The 2nd trailer for Warner Brothers and Legendary movie Kong: Skull Island debuted Wednesday night during Jimmy Kimmel Live on ABC.
Kong: Skull Island re-envisions the iconic ape with a story that is set in the 1970’s during the midst of the Vietnam War. A team of explorers venture deep into the island only to come across Kong himself.
Tom Hiddleston plays an ex-SAS officer “James Conrad” who’s accompanied by Brie Larson who’s a photojournalist, Samuel L. Jackson as “Lieutenant Colonel Packard” and John Goodman as “Bill Randa”. Goodman’s character gives you the impression of being familiar with Skull Island and those who inhabit it.
Kong: Skull Island will not be your typical Kong movie of finding huge ape, ape falls for a pretty blonde woman, Kong is captured and removed from his island only to die from falling from a huge skyscraper. Skull Island will take place entirely on the Island, as it’s just the second movie if you will of Warner Brothers larger monster shared cinematic universe.
Warner Brothers and Legendary are working towards a Kong vs. Godzilla movie that will continue to build off of Kong: Skull Island and the Godzilla movie that was directed by Gareth Edwards.
Kong: Skull Island opens in theaters on March 10, 2017.
Cast: Tom Hiddleston, Brie Larson, Samuel L. Jackson, John Goodman, John C. Reilly, Tian Jing, Corey Hawkins, Jason Mitchell, John Ortiz, Thomas Mann, Shea Whigham, Toby Kebbell, and Eugene Cordero.
