Justice League Dark

Just as Warner Brothers is trying to lighten up there tone in the DCEU the animation division is releasing their second R rated movie to home video with Justice League Dark.

DC and Warner Brothers Animation will be releasing a new animated Justice League Dark movie in early 2017. Earlier this year they released “The Killing Joke” to home video also with an R rating.

To be quite honest after watching the Killing Joke I really didn’t see how it earned its R status, yes I liked the movie, but PG-13 might of suited it better.

I wasn’t even aware that Warner Brothers was working on an animated version of Justice League Dark, but releasing an animated version could draw excitement for those who are hyped about the live action version being directed by Doug Liman. There have been no updates since the announcement of a live action movie that will be re-titled “Dark Universe” once it hits theaters.

The Blu-ray extras will feature sneak peeks at Teen Titans: The Judas Contract, Justice League: Gods and Monsters, and Justice League: Doom; featurettes on Swamp Thing, the New York Comic Con panel, Constantine and Deadman; and two episodes from the DC Vault, “Dawn of the Dead Man!” and “Trials of the Demon!” from Batman: The Brave and the Bold.

Justice League Dark will be released as a digital download on January 24, 2017 before coming to Blu-ray and DVD on February 7, 2017.

Cast: Matt Ryan returns as John Constantine with Jason O’Mara as Batman, Camilla Luddington as Zatanna, Nicholas Turturro as Deadman, Ray Chase as Jason Blood/Etrigan, Roger R. Cross as John Stewart/Swamp Thing, Jeremy Davies as Ritchie Simpson, Rosario Dawson as Wonder Woman, Jerry O’Connell as Superman, Enrico Colantoni as Felix Faust, and Alfred Molina as Destiny. Justice League Dark is directed by Jay Oliva (Batman: The Dark Knight Returns).

Justice League Dark official synopsis
When innocent civilians begin committing unthinkable crimes across Metropolis, Gotham City and beyond, Batman must call upon mystical counterparts to eradicate this demonic threat to the planet. Enter Justice League Dark, reluctantly led by the Hellblazer himself, John Constantine. Like Batman, Constantine is a cunning, often cynical loner who is the best at his chosen profession – but quickly realizes the sinister forces plaguing the planet will require help from other supernatural alliances. Forming a new “league” with sorceress Zatanna, otherworldly Deadman, and Jason Blood and his powerful alter ego Etrigan the Demon, this team of Dark Arts specialists must unravel the mystery of Earth’s supernatural plague and contend with the rising, powerful villainous forces behind the siege – before it’s too late for all of mankind.
