Star Wars: The Last Jedi Trailer and Images

Disney and Lucasfilm released a new trailer for Star Wars: The Last Jedi the anticipated follow-up to The Force Awakens and it did not disappoint.

I’ve made it no secret ever since I’ve created Reggie’s Take that I’m a huge Star Wars fan, my wife has lovingly told me I’m a Star Wars nerd and maybe I am. I was able to watch the new trailer while at work and I about lost my mind; it’s obvious that Rian Johnson has created a sequel that continues what the Force Awakens started.

Normally when someone talks about a movie or a trailer they start from the beginning, but I’m going to start with what I saw at the end of the trailer. Now I realize that most trailers are designed to give you a glimpse at the movie and not give you the full story.

When you hear and see Rey saying “I need someone to show me my place in all of this.” and then the very next shot is Klyo Ren who then holds his hand out, was my wow moment of the trailer. Now it’s highly possible that Rey is speaking that line to Luke and not Kylo Ren, but if she is speaking it to Kylo does it mean that Rey will go to the dark side? I doubt it, but it would be an interesting twist going into Episode IX.

The logical side of my brain tells me that Rey is speaking that line to Luke and that Kylo Ren could possibly be holding his hand out to Leia, his mother. Knowing this is Carrie Fisher’s last time as Leia, it would be very interesting to see mother and son come face to face knowing that Kylo killed Han and how that may play out.

Will The Last Jedi be able to due what The Empire Strikes Back did in 1980; have the sequel be better than what came before it? From the looks of this trailer it’s very possible, but we will have to wait until December 15th to find out.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi opens in U.S. theaters on December 15, 2017

Cast: Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Adam Driver, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong’o, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, Anthony Daniels, Gwendoline Christie, Kelly Marie Tran, Laura Dern and Benicio Del Toro.

The Skywalker saga continues as the heroes of The Force Awakens join the galactic legends in an epic adventure that unlocks age-old mysteries of the Force and shocking revelations of the past.

  1. OK, someone has to say it, even if it won’t be popular–
Why are Capt. Phasma and Gen. Hux even in this movie. Thy seem, well, just barely, relevant. They could easily be referred to, but they hardly need any screen-time. The real focus should be on:
    1. Luke
    2. Rey
    3. Supreme Leader Snoke
    4. Kylo Ren
    5. Maz Kanata

The rest, are far less important, even Finn and Poe Dameron.
I would like to find out a bit more about Gallius Rex but definitly the emphasis should be put on characters 1 thru 5. However, aside from that, there are some “juicy” questions:

    1. What if Luke dropped-off Rey on Jakku…..after killing her dark-side parents?
    2. What if Rey found that out?
    3. Who is Maz Kanata? is she a Bindu? Does Snoke know of her?
    4. Is Supreeme Leader Snoke really Lord Vitiate/Valkorian? (it would explain his age & knowledge). Is he Palpatine? That would explain his fear of Luke.
    5. Will Luke go Dark?
    6. Will Yoda or Obi-wan communicate with Rey or Luke?
    7. How will The Last Jedi end and lead into episode 9?
I hope we get informative answers.
