Thomas Jane Talks Plot Details For “The Predator”

Writer, director Shane Black that’s given us such movies as Lethal Weapon, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang and The Nice Guys have given us little to go on with The Predator and thanks to Thomas Jane we’ve finally learned a little about the plot.

The original Predator movie was released in 1987 starring Arnold Schwarzenegger and would be in my top five all time Schwarzenegger movies. Since the first Predator movie we’ve gotten three sequels, five if you count the Alien vs. Predator movies.

The Predator wrapped production back in June (2017) and since then all we’ve gotten is a piece of promotional art for the movie. No teaser trailer and no plot details and to be honest it’s not surprising, especially since the movie is not scheduled to hit theaters until August of 2018.

Actor Thomas Jane who be starring in The Predator revealed the first real information about the movies plot in an interview he did with Shadow Nation.

Thomas Jane said.

“We play these veterans from like Afghanistan, Iraq war or whatever. But we’re all fucking crazy so we go to the VA hospital to get our meds. We’re all like shellshocked, PTSD…soldiers. We’re at the VA hospital and we’re in group therapy and of course, somebody flips out…this is backstory, I don’t think we really see this…somebody flips out and we all get arrested and get thrown onto the bus to go down to the hospital and they throw this other guy on the bus too.

And he’s a guy they’ve actually marked to kill him because he’s seen a UFO, he’s seen the Predator ships come down so they lock him up and throw him in with us lunatics. They’re going to take that bus, drive it down to a ditch and shoot us all just to get rid of this one guy. But, of course, we take the bus over and we’re all like “fuck that man, let’s go kill these fucking Predators ourselves” and we’re just crazy enough to believe that this guy really did see a UFO and there’s these aliens out there. So that’s kinda cool!”

“[It] has that kind of Shane Black humour. We had a blast. It was funny. You know the Predators, they looked…you know they didn’t fuck those up. They’re still Predators and they’re pretty much the same Predator as always. I think it might be great.”

I’m sure Thomas Jane didn’t reveal anything major concerning the movie, but what he did say sounds extremely fun and exciting for sure. As far as the lack of information concerning the movies plot should be no surprise. With it not coming to theaters until August of next year I wouldn’t expect to get even a teaser trailer until sometime in March or April of 2018 at the earliest.
