Are you a Superman fan? Did you enjoy the Krypton scenes at the beginning of the Man of Steel movie? A new television series on the SYFY network wants to take you back to the eventual doomed planet.

On Tuesday the Syfy network released a new trailer for there up coming Krypton series that will focus on Superman’s grandfather as he attempts bring back honor to the House of El.

The first time I watched this trailer I was a little confused, but then realized there must be some time travel involved and hopefully the series will explain why and how someone from Earth ends up on Krypton of the past. The trailer did catch my interest when this mysterious character hands Superman’s grandfather his grandsons’ cape.

Setting a series on Krypton is an intriguing idea as it’s a story we’ve heard some about, but don’t know enough about that it still leaves room to tell a good story at the same time. The ultimate question that I have and you may have as well is how do you tie this series in with Superman? Or do you?

It could be that the only tie in or reference to Superman comes in the opening of the series with the character that has traveled back to Kryptyon’s past, but that still has me asking the question of why has that character traveled back to Krypton?

Do you think Krypton will be about trying to save the planet from its eventual demise or making sure that Superman finds his way to Earth?

The series premieres on Syfy on March 21st.

Official Synopsis for Krypton:
Syfy’s Krypton, the much-anticipated Superman prequel set two generations before the destruction of the legendary Man of Steel’s home planet, will follow Superman’s grandfather — whose House of El was ostracized and shamed — as he fights to redeem his family’s honor and save his beloved world from chaos.
