Warner Brothers has released a new trailer for Godzilla: King of the Monsters giving us our first look at god-sized monsters and the return of Monarch.
Godzilla will roar back to life on the big screen when Godzilla: King of the Monsters hits theaters in May. The sequel to the 2014 Godzilla movie will see a 747-sized Mothra, the three-headed beast King Ghidorah and Rodan take on the King of all Monsters.
Godzilla in 2014 wasn’t a bad movie and I actually enjoyed it for what it was, but if you were like me you may have had the feeling that the titular character didn’t have a lot screen time. After watching this latest trailer there can be no doubt that this movie is all about Godzilla and the monsters he battles.
When you go to the theater to watch a movie like Godzilla or King Kong you want to see the monsters, after all it’s what your paying to see. Hopefully everything good about Godzilla: King of the Monsters won’t all be found in the trailers as that could make sitting through the movie seem monstrous.
Godzilla vs. Kong arrives in 2020 and I can’t wait to see that heavy weight bought come to theaters.
Godzilla: King of the Monsters arrives in theaters May 31, 2019.
Cast: Millie Bobby Brown, Vera Farmiga, Kyle Chandler, Bradley Whitford, Ken Watanabe, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Thomas Middleditch, Sally Hawkins
Official Synopsis for Godzilla: King of the Monsters:
The new story follows the heroic efforts of the crypto-zoological agency Monarch as its members face off against a battery of god-sized monsters, including the mighty Godzilla, who collides with Mothra, Rodan, and his ultimate nemesis, the three-headed King Ghidorah. When these ancient super-species—thought to be mere myths—rise again, they all vie for supremacy, leaving humanity’s very existence hanging in the balance.
